This form of 1 on 1 aquatic bodywork consists of having a therapist inviting you to explore your imprints, those invisible layers that overlap to better understand what circulates and acts through you as habit and patterns and how to let it freely flow.

Water is a vital energy that we all can access internally and recharge with the other vital elements of nature (sun, electrolytes, soil and all the earth elements). While the mind takes a pause and leans back in this eased conscious state, the whole body can turn inward and tap into its innate potential of being.

“Water is fluid, soft and yielding. But water will wear away rock, which is rigid and cannot yield. As a rule, whatever is fluid, soft and yielding will overcome whatever is rigid and hard. This is another paradox: what is soft is strong.” – Lau Tzu

The corporal language emerged when it is immersed and surrounded by fluid water energy and mapped a pure and very blissful connection.

The connection between water and the origin of life is undeniable and it is first and foremost a felt experience. Everything that leads to unity has an intense healing potential.

While you are invited to close your eyes, the Aquatic Bodywork is often performed in spacious warm water where there is lots of air flow. Sequences of movements combine with floatation can be conducted by a professional therapist, versus being in a floating tank, which is a different type of dynamic.

For instance, the induced relaxation during therapy sessions contributes to heightened sleep quality, rendering it a potential aid for insomnia or irregular sleep patterns.

Benefits attributed to water bodywork therapy include relieving stress, reducing the pain of arthritis, relaxing tight muscles and helping relieve various conditions, including insomnia and anxiety disorders.

This aquatic bodywork is also associated with promoting wellness during pregnancy, and post pregnancy as seen in a study conducted in 2015, which found Water shiatsu “significantly lower[s] participants’ levels of stress and pain and to improve their mental health-related quality of life and mood”. Since taking pain relievers is often discouraged, many women suffer through these weeks without realizing that aquatic pregnancy support might provide much-needed relief.

The particularity of this somatic work is based of the remembrance of being yourself in the womb and recall of the sense of connection that the perinatal world brought with it.

Submersion in even a shallow pool can reduce weight on the legs and spine by up to 50-75% depending upon the depth of water and height of the patient. The compressive nature of the aquatic environment also aids circulation and lymphatic flow for fluid retention in feet and ankles.

During the aquatic therapy, your therapist will accompany you by using very safe and gentle manual therapy approach.

“We forget that water and life cycles are one.”

Jacques Cousteau. Oceanographer

“Surrender to the flow of the River of Life, yet do not float down the river like a leaf or a log. While neither attempting to resist life nor to hurry it, become the rudder and use your energy to correct your course to avoid the whirlpools and undertow.” – Jonathan Lockwood Huie
